A Few Notes about My Planning and Pacing Materials
- I considered Next Generation Science Standards, the difficulty and maturity of topics and the flow of topics between units when designing my planning and pacing guides.
- I offer differentiated versions of each unit plan that are fully editable. I tend to be very comprehensive and inclusive so you may find the need to "cut out" lessons or labs from the version you choose.
- In general, more time is allocated to science per week in higher grades than lower grades and my plans are considerate of this. You will see I allow more lessons/labs per week in advanced versions and intermediate versions compared to basic versions.
- The subject plans provide the order of units I suggest for teaching in a given year.
- My planning and pacing materials are a template and starting place for many educators. Time, resources and other factors will determine how you may need to manipulate my plans to make them work for you.
